How does writing reflection(s) help the learner’s learning?
Learners reflect and pen down reflections of their thoughts and engage in self-inquiry, evaluating situations and think of different perspectives. Through writing reflections, the inner “voice” of the learner speaks and sets the learner to think more indepth to the question or the topic.
Thus, it builds metacognitive, critical and analytic thinking skills that aids effective learning
How different is the learning experience between writing reflections with Weblogs and that of using a paper and pencil?
Weblogs help us discover our audience and the readers. It provides easy and quick editing tools if we want to edit our reflection. Similarly, weblogs promotes dicusssion and allows instant comments and feedbacks that are posted by our targetted audience. We are able to input different types of media like Music, Videos, PPT slides, Photographs onto weblogs for file sharing while these may not be feasible when it is done on traditional paper and pen.
